Welcome to Oakmont Church of God - Shreveport, Louisiana
Welcome!

Welcome to the Oakmont Church of God website! As you explore we trust you will find that Oakmont seeks what is most important to God which is relationships among His people and with His Son.

You will find that we are an active church with worship services, ministries, and opportunities to learn, give, grow, and serve. But through all this activity we try to keep it simple. It's about our love for Jesus and sharing His love and truth with others.

We put our purpose as a church this way, “Connecting with people where they live, Serving people at their point of need, and Impacting them with the grace and power of Jesus Christ."

I trust and pray you will enjoy our site, sample our teaching, and get to know our church and ministries. What we would really love is for you to come, be our guest, and experience the love of God in our church firsthand.  Until then may God bless you richly in Christ Jesus.

With the love of the Lord,

Pastor Doyce Smith, Sr. Pastor

What We Believe

Affiliated with the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, we are a Protestant congregation of approximately 200 people.

Our goal is to lead the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by offering worship services, Sunday school, small group bible studies, youth programs, children's programs and music programs.

Our worship services vary in style from hymns and southern gospel to contemporary music.  We offer a variety of services ranging from praising and praying to preaching and dramatic plays.

The Church of God firmly believes the Word of God in Acts 2:47, "and God added to the Church daily those who were being saved". Therefore, as persons are saved, they become members of God's great Church. The Church of God recognizes all true Christians as fellow members of God's Church by their own declaration of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and regardless of denomination.

Each congregation of the Church of God establishes their own set of by-laws to govern the operation of the local church, but the Holy Bible is our only source for doctrine.
